Peter Jeans has been Head Coach of the Evergreen High School Girls Soccer program for the past 13 years (not including the 2016 season when he lived overseas), achieving an impressive record of 156-48-10. Under his leadership, the team advanced to 4A State Championship finals in 2017, '19 and '21 and won the JeffCo League in 2015, '19, '21, and '22. He was also Head Coach of the EHS Boys program from 2009-'13 and is now once again in '23, with a successful record of 77-21-10. Coach Jeans grew up in a soccer family, playing high school and club soccer in NJ, where he was selected to the Eastern Regional ODP team. He then attended and played soccer for Stanford University, graduating in 1993. After moving to MN, he played for the semi-pro team Bangu and began his coaching career. He moved to CO in 1998 and over the years has coached for various club teams, including Aurora Sting, the Rush, Stingers/Altitude, Denver Kickers, and Foothills FC. He holds a USSF B coaching license. Regarding his coaching philosophy, Coach Jeans states "I am passionate about soccer and coaching. I strive to develop players and teams who not only compete to their best ability but also exhibit exemplary teamwork and fair play." Coach Jeans' accolades include JeffCo Coach of the Year in 2010, '11, '12, '15, '19, '21, and '22, CO State Coach of the Year in 2011, '19, and '21, and Regional US Coach of the Year in 2021. He currently works as the Athletic Secretary at EHS after many years spent as a stay-at-home dad. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, playing cards and spending time with his wife and 3 girls.
JV Coach Phil Caldwell

Phil Caldwell has coached the EHS JV Girls since 2016 and was Head Coach of the Boys program from 2020-'22. He graduated from East High School then attended University of Maryland followed by University of Denver. Sports have always been a part of his life, and he continued his love of soccer while playing club at University of MD. Coach Caldwell holds a USSF C coaching license. Regarding his coaching philosophy, he says "Each opportunity to coach is an opportunity to teach. I aim to develop the person as well as the player, providing good memories and positive experiences along the way, so that hopefully he/she will also pass on a love of the game someday." Coach Caldwell's accolades include JeffCo Boys Soccer Coach of the Year in 2021 and JeffCo Assistant Coach of the Year for Girls Athletics in 2022. He currently works for the State of CO and in his spare time enjoys traveling, snowboarding, and attending sports events and concerts.
Assistant Coach Matt Barnes

Matt Barnes has been Assistant Coach for EHS Girls Soccer since 2017, with over 25 years of coaching experience. He graduated from Conifer High School where he played goalie for a successful team. He then attended the Art Institute of Colorado Video Production. Coach Barnes holds a USSF C coaching license. While coaching club soccer, he earned the Colorado Rapids Coach of the Year in 2014. He has always appreciated this quote: "A coach is someone who tells you what you don't want to hear, who has to see what you don't want to see, so you can be who you've always known you could be." Adds Matt: "Everyone knows what they are good at, but working on weaknesses is what makes you a stronger player and teammate on the field." His favorite club team is Manchester United, and his inspiration for becoming a goalie was the long-time Red Devil, Peter Schmeichel. In his free time he enjoys playing golf, bowling and cheering on all Colorado sports teams.
After assisting with EHS Girls Soccer since 2019, Alex is now an official Assistant Coach as of 2024. She graduated from EHS in '18 where she was captain and starter for a successful team that made it to the state finals in '17. She went on to be a starter and two-time captain for Western Colorado University. Coach Mason is excited to continue coaching at her alma mater and says this about her coaching philosophy: "I strive to help players recognize their potential and grow their abilities, both physical and mental. I feel I am doing my job when the girls feel confident in their skills in order to push through tough situations." Her favorite club team is Chelsea and her favorite player is Sam Kerr. In her free time, she enjoys reading, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
