Welcome to the 2018 soccer season! I have attached the forms that will be collected at the all-program meeting scheduled on Thursday, March 1 at 5PM. Booster fees will be collected, as well as purchase of uniform socks and practice t-shirts if needed. You will also have an opportunity to prepay for family members for the end-of-season soccer banquet scheduled for Sunday, May 6th at Mt Vernon Country Club. This is a very special evening to recognize the players and coaches for their hard work and dedication to the program! There is also an order form for optional pictures, scheduled for Tuesday, March 6th. Cheryl Newhall will be available to take individual and team photos.
Traditionally, our seniors are in charge of designing spirit wear for players to purchase, which is completely optional. There is a very short order window as we would like all orders placed to be in by the evening of March 4 (Sunday) so that we can get them printed and returned to players before spring break. Sample sizes of the garments will be available to view/try on at the meeting.
You can also visit www.athleticteamspirit.com and click on the EHS Girls Soccer 2018 link on the left side of the page.
Stay tuned for additional information about parent volunteer opportunities. In order for our program to continue to be successful, we need the support of parents to fill various roles.

Girls - The season is now a little under two weeks from officially beginning! I hope this email gives you all the important info and updates you need to plan for the tryouts as well as the season in general.
First, I try to keep my email list as up to date as possible. Let me know if you would like to add, delete or update any emails as we get toward the official season.
Paperwork: All official paperwork, fees and proof of having taken a sports physical, must be turned in directly to Kristen Krupka at the athletics office by Wednesday, Feb 21. Contact Kristen.firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions. You can not start the season or tryout without this being completed! Here is a link for that paperwork:

A new season for the EHS Girls Soccer team is right around the corner. An informal soccer camp kicks things off in late February and tryouts start on February 26. The team will get into their game schedule March 13th at Lakewood with both JV and Varsity at 4pm.
The team is coming off a state finals appearance against league rival D'Evelyn where they dropped the match 0-1 in a hard fought game at Dicks Sporting Goods Park. From the boosters, players, fans, coaches and supporters, here's to a great year.
All - Every couple years or so I send one of these emails out, and it is my pleasure to do so again tonight! The Evergreen High School Girls Soccer team is on a playoff run and we want your support! We are into the semi-finals of the state playoff this Saturday at 1:30 PM at Shea Stadium in Highlands Ranch, playing against Windsor HS. If we advance to the final, we play the winner of the 11AM semifinal between D’evelyn and Valor Christian. The Championship match would be next Wednesday the 24th, at 5PM at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City.
This is such an easy team to support. They have worked hard and improved so much as the year progressed, have been dedicated to each other and have exhibited terrific sportsmanship. We are led by an awesome group of 11 seniors, and by our three captains, Kate Athenour, McKenna Norton, and Sofia Weiner. Below is a picture of the team, followed by the names of the players who want to get their names etched on that state championship trophy!
The team has played better in each round of the playoffs, beginning with a 4-0 win over Discovery Canyon, then beating Standley Lake 5-1, and Wednesday we beat the #2 seeded Wheat Ridge Farmers by a score of 2-1. It was a fun (and cold and wet) night that propelled us to the state semifinals.
Community support means so much to a team in a playoff run! I hope you all can be our "12th player" over the next week! And…please share this with others and make some noise this Saturday and next Wednesday!
Thanks, and….Go Cougars!

The annual optional winter camp completed on Saturday (2/25) with over 30 girls attending. Multiple parents and players also came early to clear the EHS turf field of snow so that the camp could be put on. Special thanks to Coach Jeans and Kelly Alvis who showed up 3 hours early to get started on the field. Great dedication and tenacity were shown in the shoveling. The metaphor for prepping for a soccer season and clearing the field of snow wasn't missed by any of the participants.
Spring Sports – This is a message from the Evergreen High School Athletic Department. If your student is interested in participating in our Spring Sports – Baseball, Girls Golf, Boys Lacrosse, Girls Lacrosse, Girls Soccer, Girls Tennis, Girls/Boys Track, and Boys Swimming – the paperwork deadline is February 21st. The paperwork can be found on our website by clicking on the following link: https://sites.google.com/a/jeffcoschools.us/evergreen-hs/athletic-paperwork. Paperwork must be submitted to the athletic office, not your coach. Spring Sports practice begins on Monday, February 27th. Again, all paperwork must be submitted by Tuesday, February 21st in order to participate. Please feel free to contact the athletic department for more information – email@example.com. Thank you and GO COUGARS!
The EHS Girls Soccer team pulled off the first annual mid-winter soccer lock-in Feb 3-4, 2017 and bonded as a team during the process. The team brought in three different groups (D'Evelyn HS, Wheat Ridge HS, and Altitude FC) to scrimmage in the gym over 6 hours on Friday night.
The theme of the night was play, fun, bonding, and Futsal and over 30 girls from the program took part. This is a great turnout for the team considering that basketball, club soccer, jobs, and other events are competing for the girls' time.
The Soccer Boosters would like to especially thank some of the sponsors for the event -- Papa Murphy's Pizza in Evergreen, The Smiling Moose Deli in Evergreen, The Bagelry, and the Muddy Buck for their contributions. Please support our local business sponsors.
